Replacing Metal Crown

Replacing metal crown

Replacing metal crown

If you are concerned about the metal-colored dental crown that shows when you smile, or want your dental crowns to be more natural-colored (wish to change your discolored crowns), we recommend using ceramic crowns to achieve a white, natural appearance for your teeth that blends seamlessly with your smile.

By achieving a natural whiteness for the teeth that flash briefly when you laugh or talk, the impression of your face can change significantly.

There are also cases of gums turning black due to the dental crowns

In cases of dental treatment using metal crowns, there’s a risk that the metal ions might seep into the gums over time. leading to a darkening or blackening of the gum tissue.

This darkening can not only create the impression of unhealthy gums but also may give others the impression of a lack of cleanliness.

Ceramic crowns are often selected by those who want to prevent or treat gum darkening / black gum.

This case study involved a patient who visited us wishing to achieve a celebrity-like whiteness for his/her upper teeth, along with their silver crowns.

Although she had already received ceramic crown treatment at another dental clinic, she was concerned about the color difference between the natural teeth and the ceramic crowns. After consultation, we decided to unify the color of the front upper teeth to a brighter shade of white through cosmetic dentistry.

Ceramic crown was applied to the ten front upper teeth, including two with silver crowns, to achieve an overall brighter whiteness. As a result, not only did the silver crowns within the visible range when smiling turn white, but the entire set of teeth also became brighter, leading to an impressively white teeth and a charming smile for the patient.

Features of Dental Crown Replacement in our clinic

Precise designed adjustments for natural gradation and whiteness

A commitment to beauty

We aim to create teeth that are closer to natural ones, not just a single shade of white but with a subtle gradation from the tip to the end in our ceramic teeth.

Furthermore, we use a special camera to photograph the mouth area, carefully designing the whiteness and gradation of the teeth.

After thoroughly understanding the patient’s desires, we meticulously check the overall balance of the mouth to create teeth that are both more natural and beautiful.

Natural Emergence from the Gums

Natural Emergence from the Gums

To achieve a completion closer to that of natural teeth, we start the ceramic teeth from 0.5mm inside the gums.

By raising them from inside the gums, we create a natural finish without visible boundaries between the ceramic crown and the tooth.

At White White Dental Clinic, we meticulously finish up to the edge of the gums.

Precise Adjustments of Shape, Size, and Tilt

Depending on the state of the oral and facial features, the shape and size of teeth that suit best vary among patients.

Moreover, the subtle tilt and angle of the teeth can significantly affect the impression of the face.

At White White Dental Clinic, we focus on making fine adjustments to the shape, size, and tilt of the teeth from the temporary tooth stage, aiming to create ceramic teeth that best suit the patient.

We strive to provide ceramic treatments that satisfy those who wish to achieve a more natural and beautiful set of front teeth.

For those concerned about "protruding teeth," "the thickness of dental crowns," or "the size of teeth" after treatment

Many patients visit us with concerns like “my teeth have become protruding after treatment,” “my teeth stick out from my lips,” or “my dental crown is thicker than my surrounding teeth.”

These issues often arise from setting the dental crown or ceramic teeth too large or thicker compared to the surrounding teeth at the stage of making them.

At White White, we address these issues by resizing the teeth smaller to match the other teeth through ceramic re-treatment, and by repositioning the teeth inward to correct protrusions. The thickness is also adjusted to match that of the surrounding teeth, resulting in a finish indistinguishable from natural teeth.

If you wish to have protruding teeth re-treated or reduce the size of your teeth, please feel free to consult us.

For Those Concerned About the "Color" of the Teeth after treatment

If the color of previously treated teeth does not match your skin tone or facial features, it can cause a feeling of discomfort.

Additionally, if the color of the treated teeth doesn’t match the surrounding teeth, the treated teeth may stand out, creating a strange impression.

If you wish to have the color of your teeth re-treated to match the surrounding teeth, desire a more natural whiteness, or a natural gradation in your teeth, please feel free to consult with us.

Our clinic focuses on the color nuances of the ceramics, pouring our efforts into treatment techniques that create the teeth to match the surrounding natural teeth.

Since we do not use any metal in the  foundation(base), there is no risk of metal color reflecting in the ceramics, allowing us to achieve a naturally beautiful color.

Furthermore, in collaboration with our dental laboratory, we apply gradation from the base to the tip of the tooth and precisely replicate the color nuances of the surrounding natural teeth in the ceramics.
